The tradition of giving gifts to wedding guests originated in France. Bomboniere (or favors as they are also known) are small gifts traditionally given at a Wedding by the Bride and Groom.

These days, bombonieres are seen at all sorts of celebrations such as Baby showers, 50th’s, 60th’s, 80th as well as Christenings, Communion, Baptism and so on. Whilst they are by no means compulsory, they’re a small gesture to say thank you for coming to the celebration and especially to thank guests who may have travelled a long way to attend the celebration. Usually the bombonieres are left on the table for the guests to take home with them at the end of the celebration or sometimes the host will visit each table and give them out personally.

Here at Black Tie Events MC / DC, we specialise in MC and DC services for a range of Melbourne celebrations and have had the pleasure of seeing all sorts of thoughtful gift gestures.
